The VIDEO...

The Official Thrill the World 2009 Cat Lake TMS Performance!

Darkness falls across the land / The midnight hour is close at hand / Creatures crawl in search of blood / To terrorize your neighbourhood / And whosoever shall be found / Without the soul for getting down / Must stand and face the hounds of hell / And rot inside a corpses shell / The foulest stench is in the air / The funk of forty thousand years / And grizzly ghouls from every tomb / Are closing in to seal your doom / And though you fight to stay alive / Your body starts to shiver / For no mere mortal can survive / The evil of the THRILLER! (Ya, I know. I still can't format this blog very well. Sigh.)

Yep, here it is. The whole 5 mins and 58 seconds (I think). I warn you that the content is very scary. These zombies look pretty real to me. Tee hee. ;)

Don't lie. I know you wish you had been here dancing with us.

Welcome to TMS: Home of the Zombie!
We did it! At 7:30pm (central) we joined the 400 other events worldwide in dacning to MJ's 'Thriller' at the same time. It was excellent. The past two months of practice really paid off and the kids looked great. The participants were: Corrina Ombash, Lisa Wynn, Ty Ombash, Darren Gray, Evange Wesley, Amber Crane, Austin Cromarty, Leanne Crane, Roberto Crane, Dakota Keeper, Latasha Ombash, Caitlyn Oshag, Brittany Ombash, Seth Peters, Dylan Ombash, Austin Wesley, Keely Wesley, Ben Wesley, Kendra Wesley, Charity Sakakeesic and me (Heather).

This was so much fun!

Thanksgiving means Mini Moose Derby

Every September, Cat Lake hosts the Moose Derby. It is a week long tradition where each hunter brings back not only lots of delicious moose meat, but also the heads of each moose killed. The heads are then judged, measured and the winner announced during a huge celebratory feast. This year, the winner was one of my former students. He looked very proud when his name was announced!

During the three day Thanksgiving long weekend, Cat Lake hosts a Mini Moose Derby. We all wonder who will win this one, but we will have to wait until Tuesday for the results.

Welcome to Cat Lake

Cat Lake is a small First Nation community in northern Ontario. I am the Grade 7/8 teacher at Titotay Memorial School here. We have started this blog becuase the Grade 7/8 class, as well as the Grade 4 class, have decided to Thrill the World on October 24 at 7:30pm! We have all been practicing hard and we are getting very excited to get our zombie gear on and dance our way into the record books. Come back often to check our progress and learn more about our community!
